Good posture for the visual artist
Making artwork doesn’t have to hurt.
Hunching over the drawing desk can be the most peaceful place in the world, until you stand up and realize you’re in pain. Good posture for the visual artist is usually a challenging subject, and in the Western world, our posture tends be so bad it causes many problems – both inside and outside the art studio. Try the 8 Steps to a Pain Free Back, by Esther Gokhale
In this video, I introduce you to the book 8 Steps to a Pain Free Back, by Esther Gokhale.
This book has helped me to develop a method of sitting at the drawing table for hours every day, that is pain free. It has worked miracles on my posture and back pain, and I highly recommend the book for other artists who wish to be able to work at their craft for many pain free years!
