Part 20 of 22: My favorite thing about teaching drawing is that if you really absorb the foundations of how to draw, those skills are yours for life.

Avery is a perfect example of this. A 3 year lapse in drawing meant her skills weren't tested out without my guidance until she entered high school- but her 1st drawing again after my lessons & her 3 year break revealed her skills had matured to the point of WOW! It is hard to tell which of these is her drawing (top) & which is the source photo (bottom), isn't it? No surprise, she won a state-wide competition with this drawing.
