LZM Studio Founder Story (Part 15 of 22)

Part 15 of 22: Teaching kids was the breakthrough I needed as a new teacher.

Since no one really taught me drawing in art school, I had to learn how to teach it as a graduate student. But those students were in art school already, so they had some natural aptitude. When I started teaching kids, they would literally melt down if they didn't understand something I was showing them! So I had to show them, verbally explain what I was doing, & encourage them to try even if they failed. I'll never forget the time a 6 year old struggled to draw something 4-5 times & when they finally got it right, leaned over & kissed me on the shoulder in joy! We all deserve that kind of grit & graciousness in learning.
